Cedar Rapids Report

Dear Friends,

On Saturday, April 4, my wife and I will be traveling to Cedar Rapids, IA as part of the 2009 Rock County Christian School missions trip.  We will be working on rebuilding homes damaged by last year’s flooding and performing a short drama in a local church in the area.  Please be praying for us as this is a great opportunity to show Christ’s love, impact our students, develop stronger bonds with fellow believers/co-workers and even learn a few helpful construction skills.  We will return on Thursday.

Patriot Pastor Program Update

This week we had intended to air a classroom discussion on the issue of state sovereignty featuring a video conference with the Patriot Pastor, Garrett Lear. Unfortunately, this did not work out due to some unforeseen technical difficulties. Instead, we aired an even better program featuring a live Garrett Lear fielding live questions from our host. Do the states have any authority over the federal government? Is this even an issue Christian should care about? Find the answer to questions such as these on this week’s broadcast.

Remember the Poor

What is our responsibility toward the poor?  Liberals would tell us that it is the job of our government to provide for the needs of the less fortunate.  Conservatives would say the individual is responsible for his own fate.  Question we want to address is what does the Bible tell us?  Christians have historically been known as a charitable people, but is it really the churches job to help those who don’t seem willing to work for themselves?  Join us as we hear from our host, Kevin Thompson, as he preaches a sermon entitled, “Remember the Poor.”
